Massive €176 million Mega Millions Jackpot Won By Single Ticket Holder

Over the last week, lottery fans from all over the world have been excited by the sheer number of wins. Some of those wins have been in the Irish Lotto, the Euromillions and the German Lotto. However, the biggest win this year has come just this weekend after the Mega Millions managed to produce a massive €176 million ($188 million) jackpot winner.

The winning ticket was sold in California at the Primm Valley Lotto Store and is believed to be the only such ticket. This means that one person may very well be the only jackpot winner of the Mega Millions prize. Although the lucky ticket holder may choose the entire €106 million in one lump sum, the option of being paid in 30 installments. This would mean that the winner will be entitled to the full amount of €176 million over a period of time.

As yet, the identity of the ticket holder is unknown. Furthermore, the lucky winner is yet to claim his or her prize, although winners are granted one full year in which to do so.

This recent Mega Millions win came after a long run of twenty draws without producing a jackpot winner. In the next tier, there were no additional winners who managed to correctly match all of the five main numbers.

The odds of correctly matching all five numbers as well as the Mega Ball is 258,890,850 to 1. Participants in the game can look forward to bi-weekly draws; every Tuesday and Friday at 23h00 ET, with a total of nine prize tiers in which to place. Matching up all six numbers (5+1) will yield a jackpot win.
