Those close to the Griffith family have indicated that even before the lottery success, the couple have had more than their fair share of marital issues. Lara and Robert came into a lovely $2.75 million windfall and although one would think that the newly acquired wealth would help fix a few of their problems, ironically the riches caused even more!
Both parties squandered away their riches. While Mr. Griffith purchased a high-end car, Mrs. Griffith splurged her cash on designer clothing. The couple bought a mansion, although that phase would not last terribly long. Lara accused her husband of infidelity and in a fit of rage, Robert sped off and the couple would never be the same. Today, Robert lives with his parents from whom he gets his allowance.

However, Willie literally burned through his money due to a crack addiction. His life became a little more desperate years later after having to deal with the stresses of a divorce. He is currently serving time after being found guilty of first-degree murder.
