Twenty-three rollovers later - $478 million
The USA Powerball grand prize is now currently standing at $478 million after yet another rollover. Wednesday’s draw produced no jackpot winner and officials say that the current prize is, as it stands, The USA Powerball’s fifth biggest ever prize up for grabs. Incidentally, this figure is the eighth largest lottery prize ever recorded in United States history.
Top of the pile in that respect is the largest all-time lottery prize jackpot of $1,6 billion of which the winning tickets were purchased in Tennessee, California and Florida in January 2016.
Since the last time the grand prize of $40 million has been claimed back in May 11th, The USA Powerball is currently experiencing its twenty-third rollover. Sales for The USA Powerball over the past year stands at nearly $75 million.
If the current jackpot does produce a winner, and does not opt for the lump-sum payment of a little over $330, the player will stand to earn $478 million if he or she chooses instead to be paid out over a period of thirty years.
The Powerball lottery tickets are sold for $2 each and is enjoyed in 44 states across the USA, the District of Columbia, the US Virgin Islands as well as even Puerto Rico.
The current winning numbers are 10-47-50-65-68 and the Powerball is 24. Stay in the know with Lottotime.com after the Saturday draw where you will find updated results after 22:59 ET.
